Investigation of dynamic deformations on wind turbines
Wind turbines must withstand enormous loads and deform under dynamically changing flow conditions. In order to investigate the dynamic behaviour, the deformations of the tower and rotor blades of a wind turbine during operation are to be measured over long distances (100-300 m) with a laser-based distance measuring system. Based on these measurements, the condition of the turbine can be evaluated and the turbines can be operated more efficiently.
The focus of this thesis is the characterization of the measurement system and the recording of the dynamic tower movement.
